Content to sit in a cozy chair
Smile on her face – not beaming, teeth showing
Rather… quiet, loving, tender, small with eyes glowing
A smile that matched her personality
She didn’t need to be heard at all times
Loved to listen
When it was important or the topic needed her opinion, she was confident to speak up – often to the secret smiles and quiet giggles under covered mouths of those who loved her
Secretly goofy and sometimes mischievious, just like her boys, she was always faithful
She loved those around her with such fervor. You never doubted how she felt because you knew – even when she tried to hide some of those feelings
Prayer always present – lovingly urgent.
Bible tracks and cards sent with consistency and perseverance – signed with love and a belief in what only God could do:
Love, Grandma Bockert
Love, Sybil
Her hugs felt like blankets
Her smile like sunshine
To know her was to know what home felt like.
Because to know her was to experience the love and faith of our true home – heaven.
Always looking to heaven, welcomed home on Easter.
On a day for celebrating new life and salvation, she was carried on wings to her new life.
She leaves here with us the feeling of home, the pieces of her to carry on to others – love, perseverance, confidence… heaven.
